Welcome to Chapter P

Fayetteville, Georgia

We would like to welcome you to Chapter P of Fayetteville, Georgia. We hope these pages will provides you with some information about the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (G.W.R.R.A.).
First of all, when you join the GWRRA, you join the entire network of GWRRA chapters worldwide. The website for GWRRA is http://www.gwrra.org.  There are over 30 chapters in the state of Georgia alone. We consider ourselves one big happy family and visit other chapters whenever we can. You can visit and support all the chapters you wish. Most members however have one chapter, which they consider as their home chapter.

Since you have already paid your annual dues to the National organization, we don’t ask for dues at the local level. You can support your chapter by bringing door prizes to the monthly meeting (at least $5.00 in value). At the meetings we sell tickets for door prizes and 50/25/25 drawings. This helps raise money to operate the chapter.

To show our GWRRA spirit members like to wear their vests or chapter shirts. Your vest may be ordered from the Flag People at 1-800-287-0497 or qqflags@worldnet.att.net. Of course, you may be able to find vests locally or at other motorcycle rallies and events. Vests are not a requirement.

For pins, patches, etc. please contact the Chapter P Directors, David & Wanda Privett at 770-471-2936 or jdprivett@bellsouth.net.

Embroidery can be acquired locally or at many of the larger Gold Wing Rallies. You may want to ask a Chapter P member for advice on this and other similar matters. Networking within Chapter P and the GWRRA has its advantages. Do not hesitate to ask anyone for advice, they may have some valuable information on the subject.

During the meetings, we have several incentives to show our Chapter P spirit. One of these incentives is the vest or chapter shirt drawing. When the name is drawn, the member must be present to win and must be wearing his/hers GWRRA vest or chapter shirt. The pot usually starts off with $5.00. If the member is not present or is not wearing his/hers vest, the initial $5.00 will rollover and another $5.00 is added to the pot for the next monthly meeting.

Another incentive we have at the monthly meeting is the High Mileage Award. To be eligible for this award, members must ride their motorcycle to the meeting to be able to log their mileage. Mileage is added up at each monthly meeting and the top riders are recognized. A certificate will be awarded to the High Mileage Winner at the next monthly meeting and the top riders are recognized. If you miss riding your motorcycle a particular month, your mileage won’t be logged until the next monthly meeting you ride to, then your mileage will be averaged over the months in between. At the end of the year, plaques are awarded to the top three High Mileage Riders.

Chapter P has a website and the URL is http://www.ga-p.net. This is one of our communication tools to keep the chapter members informed. A monthly newsletter is another way we keep our members informed. If you have access to the internet you can go to our website and download the latest information about the activities of the chapter. The phone tree is another valuable means by which we get information out to the members. A chapter member will use phone calls to inform the members of upcoming events if necessary. Our Chapter P website also has links to other websites that offer helpful information.
